Ranking The Class Of 2023 – Top 5

For the first time, the HSBasketball brings you a ranking with the best players who are not yet in high school. Even with ages between twelve and thirteen years old,  they have already been standing out on americans courts.

Let’s meet them.

1. Elijah Fisher (Crestwood Preparatory College, Canadá)

For most americans websites, Elijah is a center, but he can also play as a power forward. What draws your attention at first sight is his versatility of easily scoring in different situations.

He is consistent in his mid-range shoots, he has good footwork that helps him find spaces in the low post, he has good outburst capacity for infiltrations as well. He not only has the fundamental characteristics to play near the basket but also has good ball handling. He is also a good playmaker to his teammates and when he shoots from the perimeter, he has a great success rate.

“I’ve never had a kid, or a player, or a student athlete this young that’s been able to compete and not show signs of being nervous or being out of place.” said his coach Ro Russel.

2. Mikey Williams (San Ysidro High School, Califórnia)

Mikey is a guard with score first style with good passes. Defensively speaking he is far from ideal even for his class, but he compensates a lot with individual plays and great passes to his teammates.

He has a nice shooting from mid distance, making good sideline infiltrations and knows how to use the back door in his favour. When he focus on defense, he can steal plenty of balls.

He is a player who has been standing out from some universities, but the boy made himself clear when he said that he would like to play at UCLA. We will see what the future will say.

3. Jayden Nicholson (Missouri)

Jayden is a small forward with qualities of a guard. He can create his own shoots with ease and he also has a good reading of the game. He has efficient ball handling and a good physical explosion to make his infiltrations.

He can control his body very well when he receives some contact, not to mention the fact that he is showing a great physical evolution through the months.

4. Frankie Ayissa-Etoh (Maryland)

The point guard is one of the players who made a big progress in this class. In the technical part, maybe he is the best player in this position, but he still needs to make his body better, make himself stronger.

He has a good basketball IQ for his age. He selects his shoots very well and creates plays to himself and his teammates and is deadly on his defense-atack transition.

5. Jahsemar Olembe (Margaret Avenue Senior Public School, Canadá)

Jahsemar is a talented combo forward. He has a great vision of the game and he can successfully create spaces on the court. He has a consistent shoot from short and mid distance. Besides being an important attacker, he is useful in defense as well. He can marks guards.

In this first moment, we are going to do a Top 5, but it will be updated until be a top 10 list.

I hope you like it.

See you next time.
